Utility Transition

The Village's water service has transitioned to Aqua Ohio under a 2024 Asset Purchase Agreement that closed in Q1 2025.

Why this transition?

Operating a small public water system requires meeting an evolving set of Ohio EPA standards while also funding ongoing infrastructure investment — a stretch for villages of Midvale's size. After evaluating alternatives, the Village entered into an Asset Purchase Agreement with Aqua Ohio in August 2024, with the transaction closing in Q1 2025.

Will my bill change?

You will receive billing from Aqua Ohio rather than the Village. Aqua Ohio's rates are regulated by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO). For specifics, contact Aqua Ohio customer service.

Will my service change?

Day-to-day water service should remain reliable. Aqua Ohio is responsible for repairs, infrastructure investment, and water quality compliance.

Who do I call for water emergencies now?

Call Aqua Ohio (number to be added once verified). For drainage problems on village streets, contact the Village Streets Department.

What about my final village water payment?

Instructions for residents who had a final balance with the Village water utility at the time of transition will be added once verified.
